Tip Tuesday – Post-Vacay Life Reassessment

Obviously, we would all rather be on vacation, or much more frequently than we are. And even if you love your job, coming off a vacation-high and going back to work can be draining, and make you long for the days you were only concerned about mai tai’s and the lazy river.

But if you find yourself TRULY depressed, or upset to be back home, it might be time to reassess life and see if you might need to make some changes. After all, a proper vacation should make you appreciate your life more, not depress you and make you even more down about your life.

Post vacation is a great time to gauge how things make you feel and decide if you shouldn’t bite the bullet. After all, your end goal is to create a life you don’t need a vacation from!

Saturday Snack Spotlight – Clean Trail Mix

So snacks… that can withstand Florida heat but still nourish me and keep me stable. I opted to make my own trail mix and bring it, so I don’t have to worry about what’s in it, and it’s a good balance of things!

Here’s whats in it (this is portioned out into several bags)

  1. 1 cup sliced almonds.
  2. 1 cup raw pumpkin seeds.
  3. 1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes (I buy them in chunks and slice them)
  4. 1/2 cup raw walnut pieces.
  5. 1/2 cup sunflower seeds.
  6. 1/2 cup raisins.
  7. 1/2 cup dried cranberries.
  8. Peanuts
  9. Cashews
Do you make your own trail mix? What do you put in it?

Friday Fitness – Beachbody On Demand

Even though I am between official programs (because I timed my last one to finish just before my vacation — planning ahead is my JAM), I am still working out this week, here in our vacation home.

I am making it work with the space and my Beachbody On Demand All Access – I have every single Beahbody workout ever made, and all I need is my laptop (or my tablet, or even my phone).

I can do gentle stretching or I can pump some weights. I can be a cardio queen or a dancing machine.

Full discosure here: this is 100% my own opinion – Beachbody on Demand is one of the most valuable innovations I have seen in a long time, truly making your health and fitness goals possible – eliminating all obstacles and excuses. I love them for that. I love Beachbody for doing that, for creating that. I love them for finding a way I can continue on my goals despite being on vacation.

That’s so awesome – you can take it anywhere. You can do any workout anywhere. That’s amazing.

If you haven’t tried Beachbody On Demand All Access, what are you waiting for? Let’s get all these awesome workouts at YOUR fingertips, and lets get YOU closer to YOUR goals!

Work For It Wednesday – Florida Vacation Edition

Vacations used to stress me out, majorly. The planning, the logistics, and oh, the money. Both getting the most bang for our buck, and the paying for it.

Vacations, even cheap ones, are stressful on most people’s finances. Or, if they aren’t, they are vacations that are paid in full because they were saved up for. Which takes a LOT of discipline, you know.

Here soaking in the Florida sunshine with family, my heart. Making memories. Moments. Laughing and living and loving life.

These are the moments we work hard for. These are the moments we grind for.

I am grateful today that by me sharing my story, and helping others feel good about themselves, I have made vacations less stressful financially. Still stressful, but less so. And some day, they won’t be, because they WILL be paid in full with the income I work my butt off to earn by being real, raw, honest and transparent in my journey.

That I have the courage to do that, and reap such fabulous rewards as the result, is awesome. And YOU also have the courage to do it, you just might not know it yet. Are you willing to work for it? Let’s chat!

Because it must be said:

**Beachbody does not guarantee any level of success or income from the Team Beachbody Coach Opportunity. Your income will, of course, match your efforts!**

Tip Tuesday – Traveling

With summer around the corner, vacations are being booked and we’re setting out to travel. Now, naturally, traveling is a lot for anyone, but as Diabetics, we need to be extra prepared in order to avoid disaster.

Stacey Divone of The Girl with the Portable Pancreas offers up the following tips:

I always make sure I have a snack in my bag, once past security I fill my water container, and I make sure my medication is IN MY CARRY ON – not my checked bag! Too many instances of checked baggage being lost, and then your medication is lost, and I don’t know about the meds you take, but with some of mine, I CANNOT refill them more than once within 30 days – so lost medication would be a BIG problem for me. I consider my medication like a valuable – I keep it with me and don’t check it.

Do you have any other tips to help ease the burden of traveling as a Diabetic?
