If you’ve been pregnant, you’ve most likely gotten to a point in your pregnancy where, even if you are a little scared, you were READY to be done with pregnancy, and ready to “graduate” to the next stage – motherhood; ready to meet the little baby that’s been kicking and punching you for months now! No? Just me? 😉
That’s where I am. I’m just READY – for as scary as the unknown is, I’m just so. very. ready. to meet my baby, ready to kiss and snuggle, ready to see if it’s a boy or a girl, ready to not be pregnant anymore…
I have LOVED being pregnant, but I’ve reached the point where I’m just ready for the next stage – at what point did YOU reach this stage?
I’m 38 weeks today and I cannot wait to meet this little nugget!
“What’s the secret sauce?!”
The secret sauce is getting off your ass and working towards what you want; step by step, consistently, through the hard times and the easier times.
That’s it, that’s the secret and the sauce. WORK FOR IT!
Want the truth? Well, it IS Tuesday, so let’s #truthbomb, shall we?
TOO MANY of us (myself included at times – I’m human…) are way too quick to compare. To sell ourselves and our ability to improve short. To throw in the towel and chalk it up to “I just can’t do XYZ…”
Maybe you can’t YET, but every single great in the world once couldn’t do what they excelled at either, or at the very least wasn’t AS awesome at it.
They focused. They put in the work. They showed up, they kept going. They practiced til they were awesome.
Why don’t WE do that? That’s how I see every workout, every round, every rep I do – practice that’s making me better. Making me stronger. Making me awesome.
Most of us don’t wake up and absolutely crush everything we set out to do (and yes, I know there are some exceptions to that rule, but that’s the key word – they are the EXCEPTION!)
If you want to be good at something, keep going till you are – giving up sure as eff won’t make you awesome at it!
PRACTICE makes AWESOME.
I can’t do it for you but I can do it with you – are you with me?
Let’s do this!
The truth? It’s not up to anyone else.
It’s up to you.
Get to creating! ☀
Just gonna leave this riiiiight over here.
Go. Live. Your. Damn. Life.
I have been a bit quieter because I have been dealing with some stuff, and much of it required my attention and focus, so it seemed best to just ease up a little and allow myself the space I needed.
That right there indicates my growth over the years – in the past, I would struggle mightily with stepping back from ANYTHING, and I would have just continued to run myself ragged. Isn’t it the best feeling when you REALIZE you can’t pour from an empty cup?
I can’t tell you what the secret to health is, because there IS no secret.
Everyone responds differently to different things. This is why it’s important to find a program/regimen/routine that works for YOU.
Because I can tell you what the secret is NOT – it is not sitting around WISHING health and wellness would fall in your lap. It’s WORKING for it; TOWARDS it, to the BEST of your ability.
That’s all I do. Consistently.
I am no different than you. I had to get myself into the habit, too. I have to work for it, too. I have to power through the tough days, too.
Decide you are worth it. Because you are.
I try to live by the “if your food can go bad, it’s good for you” rule – the stuff that can survive on shelves for months is not good for you!
When you nourish yourself and your body with real, whole foods, you get the natural energy from foods, not the sluggish, fatigued feeling.
Key takeaway here: nutrition is NOT about deprivation! Deprivation usually leads to desperation, and you know how ugly THAT can get! All things in moderation, guys!
