Mannnn it felt good to get back to it today!
I did a workout designed specifically for the second trimester; it was all strength training, no cardio (my preference, if we’re being 100% honest!) and it felt so good after a few days off and a good stretch yesterday!
And lending more credence to my theory that my daily movement seriously helps stabilize my blood sugars, things have been MUCH better the last two days (days I moved) versus the three days that I didn’t!
Who else is moving today?
Woke up today feeling much more human, much less stuffed up, less pressurized up there oh and less dizzy! Weeee!
Riding out the rest of the germs and getting some more work done (I’ve actually been grateful to have work that can be taken home, as I haven’t been able to do much else and I can only sleep/watch so much TV, so being able to be work-productive in a restful setting was a saving grace for my sanity!)
Of course my sidekick is passed out on my feet 😍
Had to cancel my acupuncture appointment for this evening… while I was hoping I’d be better in time, I’m not and I don’t wanna spread my germs to anyone else (we all know people who do that!) so as bummed as I am (I look forward to these appointments!), I’d rather reschedule and contain my germs than spread them around!
I try to practice the Golden rule – I don’t like others being irresponsible and exposing all of us to their germs (especially as a prego with a weakened immune system!) so I don’t recklessly expose others to my germs.
Doing much better but still not 100%, I’m well rested but going a little stir crazy, haha.
Hoping to wake up feeling freakin’ fantastic tomorrow!
I’m just gonna be blunt and say it: being sick while pregnant is an entirely different ballgame and it sucks!
Day 3 of my sinus infection… which means day 3 of my program and day two of a workout hiatus…
Full disclosure: yes, for a little bit, it bothered me to go back on a commitment I made to/with several of the ladies in my challenge group.
But I quickly reframed it to I’m pausing THAT commitment til it’s safe to continue it in order to stay true to the BIGGER commitment I have right now, which is continuing to safely grow and nurture this little being! And ALL of the ladies understand, of course.
Right now I need the rest. Since I’ve had some extreme dizzy bouts, I need to be resting and keeping myself safe. I need to be able to breath (getting better but still a battle at times) and since being sick tends to send my blood sugars skyrocketing, I need to get better so I can get back to my normal routines and things being controlled.
So for now my focus is on just that – getting better and riding out the remaining 15 weeks (!) of my pregnancy as safely as possible, not pushing myself and setting myself back.
Did you get sick at all during your pregnancy? I’ve had a cold/strep throat and now a sinus infection and they have all handed my ass to me!
I came hard for Monday mornings workout – after all, it’s day 1 of my program…
… and then Monday came hard for ME, in the form of a sinus infection.
Does this make us even Stevens? Because that’s what I’m telling myself… 🤣
