You can’t see this, but my child is probably looking at the man who has had me doing all sorts of crazy moves the last 5.5 weeks.
And you can’t hear it, but baby is also probably asking “what the heck, man? Can’t a baby grow in peace?!”
What, did we expect my child not to be sassy and opinionated?! 😉
I have to work at it just like anyone else.
I had to progress like anyone else.
I had to show up and do what I could do, till I could do what I wanted to do, like anyone else.
And my fitness journey actually started with the guy who trained me today – Shaun T!
And it never fails, every time I do a workout with Shaun, I go back to the first workout of his I ever did – an ASSKICKING workout from his T-25 Beta (you are supposed to start with Alpha and graduate but, silly me put the wrong workout in) that left me sprawled on the floor for a solid 5 minutes after.
Don’t get me wrong, he still kicks my ass, but I have grown. I have progressed. I have improved. I have gotten stronger. I can do his workouts, and I can work for it just like anyone else!
It didn’t get any EASIER, I just got BETTER, because I trusted the process, believed in myself, and stayed accountable (thanks to my awesome group!)
Before Country Heat, there was Cize, by Shaun T. Shaun could probably get me to do just about anything because he is so fun, and passionate, and infuses all of that passion and energy into every single thing he does.
Cize is one of my favorites because it’s fun, easy to learn, a great workout (I sweat like crazy), and the moves are catchy!

This is me during last years Saturday Superworkout – Beachbody had Broadway St shut down, and 25,000 of us Beachbody Coaches worked out at Sunrise with 5 of the Beachbody Celebrity Trainers – Sagi Kalev, Autumn Calabrese, Tony Horton, Shaun T and Chalene Johnson.
Now, I am a morning person, so the earliness wasn’t an issue for me, but even if I wasn’t a morning person – IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO. WORTH. IT.
You cannot even put into WORDS how amazing it was; how absolutely packed with energy. SO amazing.
To share in the fitness groove with 25,000 other people as the sun rises on yet another day on this wonderful planet, just priceless.
Still to this day, one of the most amazing feelings ever.
And today… we do it again! The lineup might be a little different, but oh… the energy… you can count on it being just as amazing if not more amazing. Pics to follow!
You’ve probably seen me talk about Shaun T’s newest program – CIZE – lately. This is because truly, this program is AMAZING. I was never one for organized dance – I can jam to Phish and the Grateful Dead like nobody’s, but give me choreographed routines and I am a mess.
Not with Cize! Because I have done so many of Shaun’s workouts (plus worked out with him LIVE at Summit!), I trusted the guy, so when people kept telling me “its okay, he teaches you step by step to build up to the routine, you will be fine!” I was like yeah, sure, secretly thinking in my head “this is gonna be HILARIOUS!”. But I’m not actually one to back down from a challenge, and my fellow coaches kept posting their crazy videos, daring the rest of us to try it, so I did. Like I posted before, I loved this workout. I had to take some time off of doing them because it has a lot of pivot moves, and my Heel Spur was aggravated by those.
But I’ve been back doing it in conjunction with Body Beast, and I gotta tell ya – I see ABS. Like actual abs – on ME. All because I am lifting weights in Beast, and dancing my pants off in Cize. It’s amazing!
So my challenge to you is this – put aside what you think you “can’t do” – try Cize! You will laugh your way through it, and have a blast. Truly, one workout was 34 minutes but it did not at all feel like 34 minutes; it flew by and felt like 10 minutes! So much fun, and in typical Shaun T fashion, he keeps it high energy all throughout. I personally need trainers that have high energy or I find it easy to get disenchanted and throw in the towel.

I have been in Nashville for Beachbody’s Coach Summit for a few days now… the last two days I worked out with Shaun T and Chalene – both are amazing, energizing, fantastic little powerhouses of enthusiasm for fitness, and I had an absolute BLAST working out with them.
Shaun T’s T-25 program is, as you might know, what got me turned onto home fitness programs, and Beachbody. I love the guy, you can tell he lives for what he does! He sure worked our bodies, but it is WE who are reaping the benefits!
Chalene is who I go to when I need a good workout but am in a time crunch… her HIIT 15 minute program is amazing, I never thought I could work up such a sweat in just 15 minutes but low and behold, I do! Her energy is contagious, and she’s incredibly relatable! Love her.
