Truthbomb Tuesday – Practices Makes Awesome

Want the truth? Well, it IS Tuesday, so let’s #truthbomb, shall we?

TOO MANY of us (myself included at times – I’m human…) are way too quick to compare. To sell ourselves and our ability to improve short. To throw in the towel and chalk it up to “I just can’t do XYZ…”

BULLSHIT.

Maybe you can’t YET, but every single great in the world once couldn’t do what they excelled at either, or at the very least wasn’t AS awesome at it.

They focused. They put in the work. They showed up, they kept going. They practiced til they were awesome.

Why don’t WE do that? That’s how I see every workout, every round, every rep I do – practice that’s making me better. Making me stronger. Making me awesome.

Most of us don’t wake up and absolutely crush everything we set out to do (and yes, I know there are some exceptions to that rule, but that’s the key word – they are the EXCEPTION!)

If you want to be good at something, keep going till you are – giving up sure as eff won’t make you awesome at it!

PRACTICE makes AWESOME.

Transformation Tuesday – Pushups

I HATED pushups.

I couldn’t do them.

They caused pain in my shoulders, a lingering injury from a car accident many moons ago.
And they made me feel WEAK.

And I hate feeling weak (does anyone actually ENJOY that?!), so I would avoid doing them. I would just chalk it up to I am not meant to do pushups, and do something less painful. No harm, no foul right?

Wrong. Because DOING them – first in a modified format, then in the real way – is what strengthened me. I participated in my own group called Guns Buns and Abs, and each day called for additional pushups… and so I did them. And I got better. And somewhere along that line, the pain stopped.

Pushups stopped being a source of PAIN, and started being a source of PRIDE.

If you take any moral from this, it’s your only limitations exist in your head. EVICT them, and watch yourself FLOURISH!

Do you struggle with pushups?

Thursday Thoughts – There is Always More to Learn

I applaud the people who study their craft. Who practice, relentlessly, to get better at it. The people who accept they may be GOOD at it but can always be BETTER. The people who LISTEN to valuable advice given to them, and step back, and can ACKNOWLEDGE when they need to do some work.

The people who are done growing, done learning… I can only shake my head. I can’t imagine being someone so arrogant that I couldn’t look beyond where I am to where I could go. I’m so grateful I’m not.
Stay open minded. Stay grounded. Stay hungry for learning. There is truly ALWAYS more to learn, always.
