Saturday Sweat – The Body ACHIEVES what the mind BELIEVES

“The obstacle is the way. You gotta go through it.”

My trainer said this during my workout today, and she couldn’t be more spot on! Oftentimes we come to obstacles and our thoughts go to “how can I get around this? Over this? Under this?”

You know how in an obstacle course, if you go around them you get disqualified? Same premise!

You gotta go through it. That’s just the only way. And I’ve had to level up and go through tons of obstacles myself, and you know what? That’s a big reason why I’m now so confident and secure in my abilities!

There is definitely something to be said for the feeling of coming to and obstacle, working through it, and coming out the other side.

Get your MIND right and there’s no obstacle that stands a chance 😉

Feel Good Friday – Hang In There

This retrograde began on November 14th, stations with the full moon, and ends on December 22nd at almost 9 pm. This retrograde can and will likely be a bit problematic and frustrating, to say the least. Remember to do your best to remain grounded and let things run their course until you are able to settle down. Do not get caught up in the troubles that may come with this retrograde. While it will bring about mental balance, balance in everything else may just fall apart.

Tuesday Thoughts – Obstacles Into Opportunities

“Who the hell wants to take health and fitness advice from a Diabetic?!” – actual words that left my mouth when I was approached about the Beachbody opportunity. I know… SO cringeworthy.

But at the time, it felt totally true. It really did seem ludicrous that I could help ANYONE, when I was barely helping MYSELF.

Here’s where the beauty of BELIEF, power of personal development, and FAITH come into play – I didn’t know the HOW, I just knew the WHY. And the WHY helped me figure out the HOW. It helped the big picture come into play, and the big picture would be accomplished by the small steps, day in and day out.

I no longer feel that way about myself as a Diabetic and my abilities as a Coach. So here is where I tell you that if YOU have any silly reason why YOU shouldn’t be able to change your life – toss that notion into the trash… you CAN do anything, and people WILL join and support you along the way!

It boils down to just being real, being authentic, being YOU – people can resonate with that!

Self Love Saturday – Most Powerful Words In The Universe

Do you speak kindly to yourself? Do you uplift, inspire, empower and encourage yourself with the words you use?

Some people — myself included — are so very quick to offer kind words to others, but when it comes to speaking to OURSELVES, we don’t get the same kind consideration.

Why is that? I have been working on this, and it is a battle, honestly. But I know I am worthy of kind words. I know the words I say to myself are the most powerful ones of all.

I think that if I wasn’t hard of hearing I wouldn’t be where I am now. It takes time to overcome a handicap. There are ups and downs and you can never be a quitter. I believe the maxim that you only get out of life what you put into it. – Lou Ferrigno

Well I for one LOVE this quote. And I agree with it. I’m sure my life would also be awesome if I didn’t lose my hearing, but I wonder would I have become such a determined soul? Would I be as tenacious? Would I be as empathetic? There are a million questions that I will never know the answer to, because I DID lose the majority of my hearing.
And I am okay with that. Have been for a long time. Yes, sometimes I gripe because something that’s so easy for others has about 10 additional layers for me, and I am still human, after all… but at the end of the day, I am always telling people to play the hand they were dealt to the best of their abilities, and I practice what I preach!
I am, after all, extremely blessed, and no hearing loss can take away from that. I accept the ups and downs of life and do my best to navigate them. After all, what else could I do?
