Try It Tuesday – Wool Dryer Balls

Got balls? ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have been going green in as many ways as I can, gradually. No, I am not that person that overhauls everything at once because hello, overwhelming!

But I have been working on safer, sustainable swaps, and my newest is using these wool balls in the dryer in place of dryer sheets (not good for the planet ๐ŸŒŽ and also not ๐Ÿพ dog-friendly!), and I was skeptical, but willing to give it a chance because that’s what I do, I give things chances ๐Ÿ˜Š

Well, consider this skeptic a BELIEVER! I was told wool dryer balls could help reduce the drying time, and also that if you put some essential oil drops on the balls, your clothing would smell delicious.

It did, and they did! I usually set my dryer to “more dry”, because I can’t stand damp clothing and I almost always have full loads of laundry. This time I set it to “normal dry”, which I don’t know exactly what the time differential is between the two drying cycles, but I know often if I have jeans in there, they will still be slightly damp after a “more dry” cycle, and with the dryer balls, they were perfectly dry just using “normal dry”, so there is obviously some credibility there.

Oh and I used some Frankincense essential oil, and my clothing smells divine, still!

Try It Tuesday – Reusable Coffee Cups

This morning, the girl filling my coffee order was so excited to show me her own new glass cup – the same one as mine except pink!

And I didnโ€™t hear her at first, and she had to repeat herself, but she told me MINE inspired HERS, and I mean, that felt good! It felt good to know I helped inspire someone to do something that lessens their impact on the world and helps heal it to a better place! โค๏ธ๐ŸŒŽ

People might roll their eyes, but this is why we SHARE – if even one person is inspired because of it, itโ€™s worth it!

And yes, small measures absolutely do add up, and itโ€™s up to us to make a difference!

Earth Day

If you took a shower once a year, you would probably stink and look disheveled, is that fair to say?

So why do we only make a big to-do about taking care of the planet once a year?

COuldn’t we all stand to make a more concentrated effort to take care of our home – not the one with a roof and 4 walls, but the one that houses EVERYTHING and EVERYONE (except the Martians – they like Mars!)

No one is perfect, but is there maybe 1 or 2 things you could do to help clean up the planet, reduce the stress on her, make it a better place that stays beautiful for generations to come?

The compound effect tell us that small efforts, applied consistently, makes a big impact, so maybe today is the day you start using reusable shopping bags (such pretty designs!), or getting a reusable coffee cup for your daily dose of java (I LOVE my bright turquoise one), or maybe you switch all your plastic food storage to Glass (much easier to clean, too!) or something else… there is no shortage of ways. you can make an impact!

To quote my good friend Jeanine, “we can be sad about it or we can make a change”!ย I challenge you to make Earth Day EVERY day, and I look forward to hearing what changes you implemented!
