Move It Monday – Be Willing To Adapt!

I’m a planner.

I learned long ago that if I leave my fitness/wellness up to chance, things are not gonna go as smoothly as they could.

This includes having an idea of what workouts I’ll be doing for the week, if I’m not in the middle of a program.

I had planned to focus on running more in the next couple of weeks while I wait for Sara to finish LIIFT 4, because the air is finally freakin’ running-friendly… and I’d like to {finally} finish the 175 mile challenge.

Buuuuuut oopsie, I forgot to take into account that it’s not light out until later now, and I personally don’t enjoy running when it’s pitch black out (lack of a major sense makes that a little unnerving, for me) and since by the time it’s light out I’m done and showering, we have to plan B it, so that’s what I did!

Gotta have some degree of flexibility and willingness to adapt, or life will be a lot more of a challenge for ya!

• ps, Sara and I are doing another round of LIIFT 4 starting September 24 if you’d like to join us! •

Meal Prep Monday – MAKE the time.

Meal prep Monday! I don’t prepare whole meals, but I make sure my breakfasts and my snacks are taken care of – those are important. Our lunches the next day are from the night before’s dinner, and we are the type to pick dinner based on our craving at the time.

But still, getting my preworkouts, my snacks, and my breakfasts ready is a huge step towards staying in line with my goals.

Be willing to take the 30-60 minutes to set yourself up for the week. It is these seemingly small gestures/actions that will have the greatest impact on how your week goes!

And before you protest – tough love time – you DO have the time to do this. When you know you are worth the effort – and you ARE – you MAKE the time!

Success Tip Saturday – More Doing, Less Planning

Where are all my fellow planners at!? There is nothing wrong with planning… but you also have to be executing, and doing the work. You can plan and plan and plan til the cows come home, but without actually setting those plans into motion, you are gonna hit the wall, the dead end quickly.

In fact, my Beachbody business has taught me to adapt a bit more – I am still a planner by my very nature, but I am getting better at going with the flow, and executing, and leaning as I go instead of waiting for a plan to be perfect before I begin to execute.

Make sure you are focusing more on putting in the work – executing – and less on planning!

Meal Prep Monday – Glass Storage Containers

What do you use to store your prepared food? I use predominantly glass containers, and not only is that better for you (and the environment), but they are easier to clean since foods won’t molt or melt on! Win!

Coming from from a vacation is always a mad dash to get things in order, and keep on track without veering too far off course, and prepping and getting back in the game is critical, or else that “vacation mindset” might overstay it’s welcome!
