A little later than usual (by like, 8 hours haha), but first workout of 2019 is in the books!
For me, today is like the ultimate Monday – can’t skip the first day of the year, because what kinda tone does that set?
Not judging anyone who doesn’t workout today, but for me personally, it was important to set the right tone and get it done!
Happy new year!
“Cheers to a new year, and another chance for us to get it right!” -Oprah Winfrey
2018 was a crazy year, with lots of ups and downs, like any other year! I was challenged, but I’ve also been changed! I’ve hurt, and I’ve worked to heal.
I’m excited for a new year, cause 2019 is shaping up to be AWESOME! Have a happy New Year! 😊
What was a highlight of your 2018?
Instead of making this a new year for a “new you”, let’s be clear – you DO NOT need a new version of you. What you need is to be the realest, and most authentic version of you.
And THAT means having the courage to OWN what YOU want out of YOUR life – not what anyone else wants. What YOU want.
It’s time to get clear on that, come as your authentic self, and make NO apologies about it.
Just be YOU.
Did y’all really think I was gonna let today – a Monday, the first DAY of the new year, nevermind the first Monday – go by without getting my sweat on?!
Noooo… sure, some things may be changing but that’s not one of ‘em! I’m still working on consistently doing things to become the best version of myself; continuing the good habits and working on releasing the bad ones.
Today sets the tone for the week, the month, the year… it begins a new book, so make your start amazing; make your story awesome!
Happy new year – who’s slaying?!
Happy New Year, dear readers!
It’s been quite a year for me – full of ups and downs, highs and lows, pain and growth… I won’t bore you with the details (or the list!), but while there have been some pains, there have been some gains, and I am excited to focus on a bright, shiny new year, and curious to see what the year has in store for me.
I love a new year because, while I don’t make resolutions, I do set goals and work on myself throughout the year, and a new year just provides a fresh new slate, and I love the fuzzy feeling of a clean beginning!
Do you set goals? Have any fun New Years eve plans? Are you excited for a new year, too?
Thanks for being along on my journey – I am excited to connect with you even more in the new year!
Share with me… what will YOU do for the last Saturday of 2017 to show yourself some love for all the hard work you have put in, all the obstacles you have scaled?
Enjoy your Saturday, all!
How are you faring with your goals for the year so far? Are you working towards them, or procrastinating, hoping they will magically become reality?
I believe in you. I believe this is your year. I also believe its my year, because I know I am doing what I need to do to achieve the goals I set for this year.
But back to you… you can do this. Don’t get overwhelmed, don’t panic. Break your goals down into manageable chunks, and start chipping away at them. You will catch momentum, and the high of achieving things you set out to do will carry you through even the most terrifying of tasks.
You deserve to achieve what you dream of, what fuels you, what ignites the light inside of you. You can do it, you just have to put your head down and get to it. So go forth, and crush those goals. Your dreams are waiting!
(By hard, I mean push your body, but don’t abuse it — just wanted to clarify!)
Today’s Fit Tip is inspired by many of the resolution’ers as they embark upon a new journey (welcome aboard!). The balance lies in working hard, but being gentle on your self image, and thus, your self esteem.
Our bodies are incredibly capable of handling more than we typically ask of them. On the other hand, most of us are super harsh on ourselves, and our self image could use a little TLC/pampering.
Recognize that you are doing your best (because you are, right!?) and BE GENTLE.
A mind that’s been beaten down isn’t going to do anything for your wellness.
