Mind Over Matter Monday – SLAY

Sometimes I purposely pick out the shirts I wear. Reverse engineering happening and such…

There’s a lot going on in my life both personally and professionally and I definitely feel pulled in way too many directions, dodging too many stressors.

And I know for what I’m trying to achieve, stress isn’t conducive to that, so I’m trying to remind myself that all I can do is my best.

And sometimes, that doesn’t feel like slaying… but considering the pull I’ve been feeling to just curl up and block everything out, that I’m waking up, and showing up, for right now, that’s slaying.

You gotta give yourself credit for even showing up – sometimes that’s a battle in and of itself!

Monday Mood Boost – Immerse Yourself In Nature

This weekend was spent reconnecting with nature, disconnecting from technology, and was then topped off by immersing ourselves in love in a gorgeous setting.

I can’t really speak to how powerful a weekend it was.

I can’t put it into words.

I have tried… but nothing feels SUFFICIENT enough to encapsulate just how much I NEEDED such a weekend.

My soul has been hurting lately. And rather than admit it, I let my ego take control and I just kept truckin’…

And that’s not necessarily a BAD thing… but it’s also equally important to HONOR all emotions, to NURTURE your soul; to let yourself FEEL and let yourself HEAL.

Mother Nature is ALWAYS healing. She has never let me down. She ensconces me in her beauty, her power. She whispers sweet somethings into my soul to remind me I’m freakin’ strong, even in my weakest moments.

She reminds me that all my ego does is hold me back; she reminds me it’s okay to have tough days – they won’t last. She encourages me to work through what’s challenging me and embrace what it’s trying to teach me.

There is beauty in all lessons, truly.

It was so nice to just sit, soak it all in and appreciate the beauty, and then cap it off by celebrating the nuptials of dear friends, which actually served as the perfect ending to a perfect weekend; a reminder that bad days don’t last, love is a powerful antidote, and life is way too short to give too much life hours to the less desirable parts of life.

To all who were a part of this much needed, incredibly powerful weekend, thank you. It was so welcomed, necessary, appreciated and healing.

Move It Monday – Never Miss a Monday!

I finally got home at 12:45 am… do YOU think I’m getting a workout in today?

If you know me, you know I simply don’t embrace EXCUSES, I embrace SOLUTIONS. And if you have been paying attention, you also probably know that I don’t skip many days, but I DEFINITELY don’t skip Mondays… something about starting the week off with EXCUSES instead of ENDORPHINS doesn’t vibe with me, you know? 😉

So an EXCUSE might be “I’m tired, one skip day won’t hurt” but a SOLUTION would be “sleep in a bit, and just workout a little later than usual!”

One of these gets me to my goals and makes my wellness a priority, and one of them doesn’t – I know which one I’m WORTHY of, so I think I know which one I’ll choose!

(For those wondering: the motivation to actually do it is at 0, but sometimes you gotta rise above that and do it anyways!)

Monday.
Week 8.
And as the shirt says… no off season.

While it would be so much easier if I could just do a little work here and a little work there and still maintain health… it doesn’t work that way.

This is a battle fought daily. But I do. And I will.

Because I deserve that.

I deserve wellness.
I deserve to feel good.
I deserve to love myself.
I deserve to have my health.

And you? You do too.

Nope, I didn’t always love Monday’s, and I sure as shit didn’t always wake up ready to slay, to set the badass tone for the week…

But something happens when you CHANGE your mindset from “waaaaah, the weekend is over?!” (sidenote: I DO still sometimes feel that way simply because I LOVE having more time to spend with friends, family and my pup!) to “Okay, it’s a new week, it doesn’t matter what did or didn’t happen last week, let’s focus on THIS week and making it count!” – when you make that shift, Monday becomes this platform, this canvas for all sorts of badassery!

So get to it! Who’s slayin’ today?
