Adventures in Pregnancy – Fetal Evaluation

So even though my blood sugars, blood pressure, and the baby’s heart rate have been close to perfection (her words, not mine!) my whole pregnancy, she has me going for twice weekly fetal evaluation just to ensure things are staying on track towards the end of pregnancy, because I guess towards the end things can (and sometimes do!) change quickly, and she feels this is something that will help arm us with valuable information.

I do like getting to hear 30 minutes of a strong heartbeat twice a week, as opposed to the 3 second clips I was getting prior!

It is a truly magical sound, like nothing I have ever heard!

Adventures in Pregnancy – Outgrowing my clothing!

Today I packed up a couple of utility bags with work dress pants, workout bottoms, sports bras, and workout tank tops that are no longer comfortable to wear right now with my growing, changing body.

And this might get some eye rolls, but this is all so uncharted for me – I have basically stayed the same size for most of my teen/adult life and I was still able to fit into clothing I wore in high school (which was half my life ago…), so not fitting into stuff is a weird feeling for me. It isn’t a BAD feeling, it’s just a NEW feeling…

But this is absolutely THE BEST reason not to fit into my clothing, and so I am choosing to further EMBRACE and APPRECIATE this miracle, because it IS a miracle, and I AM grateful to be able to experience this.

And while I don’t expect my body to be exactly the same in the time after the baby, I do know that my habits and my lifestyle will afford me to get back to where I was, or close to where I was, and so I will happily pack these items away and make room for some maternity stuff now, and I will cross any other clothing bridges when I come to them.

Did you fit back into your pre-pregnancy clothing?

Superstar Saturday – Rudder Hour

From the book I am currently reading/hosting a book club group for, is this awesome rudder quote!

I find it to be 100% true and accurate. When I actually got over my “I’m sleepy” state of mind, and SAW how starting the day off with the right tone actually changed the whole mood for the day, I was hooked. That’s a really powerful, empowering feeling, and I find it motivating every day to chase that, mornings when it just sometimes doesn’t come together, it is a HUGE shift in energy.

I let that fuel me – nothing like heading into your office, getting there at 0730, and already having had done your grueling workout, showered and gotten dressed, drank your superfoods, done your affirmations, driven into work (26.2 mile drive) while pep talking yourself (cannot listen to audio PD so I do my own!), AND done some personal development.

So basically, no matter what happens, some of the crucial components? ALREADY DONE!

Powerful.
