Mindset Monday – Your Biggest Obstacle

Look, I’m living freakin’ proof that your mindset is not only your BIGGEST obstacle, but it’s also the most POWERFUL puzzle piece.

I used to focus on negatives, zero in on imperfections, give way too much weight to flaws, treat everyone like my personal therapist, and just straight up did not believe in myself. So everything was mediocre.

Because I mean, of course – you CAN’T and you WON’T be able to SHINE until you get your mind right. There is no way around it; your mindset and your belief in yourself are the powerful one-two punch you NEED to be unstoppable.

So, clear the mental chatter and just believe in your abilities, right here, right now. YES, YOU CAN DO JUST THAT. It’s hard, yes (and worth it!), but impossible? NOPE.

Wednesday Wisdom – With Brave Wings, She Flies

“I could never do what you do!”

I get this message way more than I’d like and it makes me sad… and my response varies, but it’s usually along the lines of “have you even tried?” or “not with that attitude!” because here’s the thing…

I had those same limiting thoughts. I thought I couldn’t do the things too. In fact, 5 years ago I almost said no to Rebecca’s challenge group invite because I was convinced I couldn’t do it due to lingering injuries.

And some things I couldn’t (and some things I still can’t!) do…

…but the difference is I was willing to •try•
I was willing to •fail•
I was willing to •modify•

I was willing to check those limiting beliefs at the door and see what I’m capable of when my MIND and my BELIEF IN MY SELF are in the drivers seat.

I was willing to go in open minded, instead of weighed down by the baggage of what I might not be able to do.

And with that shift came a lot of power. I no longer watch new programs come out and think “I could never do that”, instead I start at Day 1 and I build. And fail. And modify. It’s not always pretty…

But it starts with being brave enough to TRY. You can’t FLY if you don’t TRY.

GO FLY. 

 

Fit Tip Friday – Change Your Mindset

I am so often asked how I stay motivated and consistently show up.

And honestly, some days, I have NO IDEA how I do that, I just do. Those days are rare, but they happen.

Other days, it helps immensely that I have a friend/success partner/workout accountabilibuddy that’s on the same page as me, and pushes me to show up, and reminds me why we do it, and on days we can, joins me virtually to crush it together.

And some days, it’s the amazing group Sara and I run, full of amazing ladies who are also working on their best self, who are also showing up consistently, who also motivate, inspire, encourage and empower me.

But also, something that worked for me was changing my mindset from feeling like I ‘have to’ (as if wellness is a chore or something 🤦‍♀️) to feeling blessed to be ‘able to’.

I have PUSHED my body, and she is CAPABLE… and that is a GIFT, one I try not to take for granted.

And those rare moments where my mindset shifts from “get to” to “have to” I remind myself that there are people who are unable – perhaps due to disease, perhaps due to injury, perhaps due to another circumstance. And so it makes it easier to realize I am blessed to be able, and that becomes fuel to JUST DO IT.

When you change the way you see things, magic happens! 💕

I have had every opportunity to fail.

It IS a choice.

Emotional eaters, rejoice! Help is on the way!

Any emotional eaters out there? Maybe you let food dictate your lifestyle? Maybe you can’t control your intake? Maybe you start off with honorable intentions but before you know it, you are in a downward spiral?

I get it… I am an emotional eater to my CORE. As a Diabetic, that’s not ideal, to say the least.

But FINALLY… a program that will focus on the “why” not the how, and will also focus on IDENTIFYING the TRIGGERS that make it hard to lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

It will help you SHIFT your MINDSET; no more EMOTIONAL eating, no more MINDLESS snacking, and no more PUNISHING yourself for eating food you LOVE.

Mindset Monday – Ride The Wave

Ever had those moments you are motivated to step into action, but not motivated to actually do said action? It’s a hard place to explain… I am so fired up, but there is some resistance there fOr sure.

I am trying to break through the blocks and figure out what the resistance is towards. I don’t love being in this state of limbo, but sometimes it’s necessary.
It’s okay to just ride those periods out while you work on pinpointing what’s holding you back. Clarity is a beautiful effin’ thing!
