Super Bowl Sunday – Go Patriots!

Again, I don’t usually workout on Sundays, but when I do you better believe my outfit selection is intentional!

I know tonight will be a late night as we are heading out for the Super Bowl, and I know I’m gonna be partaking in some indulgences, so rather than have to get up super early and slug my way through a 45 minute workout, I got it done today so I can stay on track!

I’m on week 6 of an 8 week hybrid; I did not come this far to only come this far! This is when planning ahead helps, so tomorrow I can sleep in a little without feeling guilty for skipping!

Transformation Tuesday – Handling Frustrations!

It’s Tuesday, so let’s talk about a little •transformation•, shall we?!

In a bit of a testament to how far I’ve come mentally/handling frustrations, when my BOD disconnected this morning and wouldn’t reconnect, while I was barely 1/3 of the way through my workout, instead of getting pissy and frustrated like I normally would, I simply decided since Sara was doing the same workout and we were on a Live Zoom, she could be my trainer and I’d just follow what she did!

Stayed calm and made it work 🙌🏼

Troubleshooting technology at 4am is not my idea of a good time, but I also didn’t want to miss my workout!

It was much better to just workaround it than to spend time and energy being frustrated and fiddling around.

I wouldn’t always have such a “shit happens” reaction (because you don’t eff with a girls workout/stress relief!), so it was nice to see how far I’ve come, and I’m proud of myself!

Never miss a Monday…

But I’m gonna, and you know why?!

Because Mondays workout was already done, on Sunday!

Sara needed to do her Monday workout a day early because she had an overnight planned, so I was like well, we have a “night game” and those typically keep me up later than usual (and as is the case last night, is a LOT of adrenaline to come down from!) so rather than staying up late and then sluggishly working my way through an early workout, why not just get it done?!

So that’s what we did, and my sleepy ass is thanking me for it today, because I was still wired for a while after that wild game!

And as a reminder, today and every day, just LOVE and be the LIGHT!

Make It Work Monday – Phish Saves The Day!

Monday didn’t start out so great – one of the moves in my workout triggered a bout of dizziness, so the rest of my workout was spent trying not to trigger that again, and it’s just not the way I wanted to start the week, you know?

But life happens.

So I did what I could in my workout, and realized it’s no reason to let the rest of the day suck – the day was literally only 4 hours old at that point, which meant I had 20 hours to turn this ship around!

A delicious coffee and an awesome commute almost completely covered by one of my fave Phish jams – Sand @ Big Cypress 12.31.99, and my mood was instantly boosted!

Dear Monday, please be kind…

That was honestly my first thought when I woke up, and last week I was already thinking about how exhausting this week is gonna be.

It’s just such a busy time of year, being pulled in so many different directions… but we got it done nice and early, because DESPITE being busy, we DO the things we need to do, WITHOUT making excuses!

The wind was not so kind to my hair on my walk in… what do you think, should I stick with it? 😉

 

Thursday Thoughts – Adapt

• ADAPT •

Today was my first workout since Monday. And also today I woke up at 5:44 AM; you know, by 5:44 AM I am practically finished with my workouts, normally. 😩

And while my body needed the two rest days due to being sick and fatigued, I really did not want to go THREE days without moving my body.

So since I was a little pressed for time (because we are verrrrry close to a deadline at work and I don’t want to be going in late), I chose the shortest remaining workout for this week, and I got it done!

Like everyone, I have had to learn to • A D A P T •, but truthfully… life really does become easier once you learn to adapt and •go with the flow•

 

Fur Mom Life – Workout Distractions!

I usually finish before she wakes up, but sometimes she comes out before I finish and commandeers my space, tries to step all over my face (floor work + a playful, rambunctious pup…)

Even so, this is still better than having to schlep myself to a gym, wait for machines, and share sweat with those who ‘don’t remember’ to wipe things down…

That’s why I love being able to do my thing in the comfort of my own home. Some people love gyms, and power to them – you do you!

But I haven’t been to a gym in about 8 years now, and I think I’m doing okay… puppy distractions simply mean it takes a little longer, but I am firmly ‘team puppy love’!

As long as it gets done (and it does!)

Monday Mood Boost – NEVER too late

As we grow older, we tend to discourage ourselves more and more. We think we are “too old” for certain things, or if we have kids we have “no time”, “no money” etc.
The excuses are becoming more and yes, the time we have available does become less…
Regardless, we OWE it to ourselves and to these lives that we’ve been given to never ever give up on those dreams that are bubbling inside of us. If it means something to you, the “not enough’s” won’t matter!

I don’t like to use the word NEVER, but here it is apt – it is NEVER too late.
