Sunday Well Spent – Prep!

A couple of weeks ago I was chatting with someone who messaged me about my food prep post, saying “I wish I had time to meal prep!” and so since I was curious, I asked how she spends her time, because not to be a jerk, but this person is very active on social media – mine and her own, which eats up a lot of our free time, but people don’t seem to realize that…

So she said she works (I do, too), and she has to clean her house (I do, too), run errands (yep) and stuff like that, which are totally valid…

But it’s worth noting that my food prep takes me an hour. Yes, I realize I’m lucky not to have to prep for dinner and such, but to act like you don’t have an hour to set yourself up for success is just not realistic – you DO have an hour, you are just dedicating it to something you find more important.

Sorry, but I’m not sugarcoating stuff anymore – you MAKE TIME for what’s important, so if keeping up to date with Sally’s dating life is more important than prepping your food, BE HONEST with yourself about that.

Because, we all GET the same 24 hours in a day, we just don’t all UTILIZE them the same way.

STOP making excuses and START making effort, and you’ll find you DO have time.

(I say all of this with love, of course)

And what do you know – today the same person sent me a text with a pic of food and said she was getting ready to prep it all! I’m a proud mama bear right now 💕

My prep is done – how about you?

Mind Over Matter Monday – SLAY

Sometimes I purposely pick out the shirts I wear. Reverse engineering happening and such…

There’s a lot going on in my life both personally and professionally and I definitely feel pulled in way too many directions, dodging too many stressors.

And I know for what I’m trying to achieve, stress isn’t conducive to that, so I’m trying to remind myself that all I can do is my best.

And sometimes, that doesn’t feel like slaying… but considering the pull I’ve been feeling to just curl up and block everything out, that I’m waking up, and showing up, for right now, that’s slaying.

You gotta give yourself credit for even showing up – sometimes that’s a battle in and of itself!

Never Miss A Monday!

I try to practice what I preach to the best of my ability… and that’s why I showed up this morning and got it done.

Despite the massive headache.
Despite the fact my dog was sick last night and kinda up my butt this morning.
Despite the fact I actually didn’t wanna.

But you’ve seen me say never miss a Monday, and I knew I’d feel worse if I did skip today (and I didn’t make it to day 69/80 with no skips to skip NOW), so we got it done.

Does it make me a hero? Nope. But it makes me a better ME. And that’s the goal, to better myself every day.

Your obstacles are your opportunity to { RISE ABOVE }

Make It Happen Monday

Monday.
Week 8.
And as the shirt says… no off season.

While it would be so much easier if I could just do a little work here and a little work there and still maintain health… it doesn’t work that way.

This is a battle fought daily. But I do. And I will.

Because I deserve that.

I deserve wellness.
I deserve to feel good.
I deserve to love myself.
I deserve to have my health.

And you? You do too.

Who is making Monday happen?

Make It Happen Monday – Don’t Dabble

0400 (0401 because, you know, Rhode Island love and all that **wink**)

Anyways… do I LOVE being up at that hour? I mean… staying in bed, cozy and warm with my husband and my dog sounds more appealing, but if this is the time I need to get up in order to get my fit on, get myself showered, ready and into work (especially right now during bridge work traffic periods) and get on with my day, then that’s what time I will wake up!

And while the HOUR may NOT be so desirable, knowing I am setting the tone for my day, for my week by showing up and getting it DONE – THAT feeling is desirable, absolutely!

To better your life, you have to be willing to put in the work; you have to be willing to keep doing life-bettering things CONSISTENTLY. You may not love it, but making it a habit and seeing the life changing effects helps give you the drive you need; it propels you through those times you don’t want to.

Dabble efforts get you dabble results, and this is my LIFE – how could I dabble?!

Make It Happen Monday – Promises to Yourself

Did you know that we are much, much more likely to honor promises made to other people, than we are to ourselves?

Truthfully, it is easier to break promises made to ourselves than it is to someone else, yet keeping our self-promises builds the self-efficacy and self-confidence upon which character is based. If you want to feel like an unstoppable badass, start by keeping the promises you make to yourself when nobody’s looking.

You are worth keeping your word to yourself!

Success Tip Saturday – Notebook

Wanna know a secret? At any given time I have a notebook with me. Sometimes its my big one, sometimes its a littler one, but I always have something I can  jot an idea, a note, a “must do” item down on – inspiration tends to strike at the most random of times (my caveat here is that many of MINE tend to come to me while I am driving, thus unable to write them down, so I repeat it to myself in the hopes I will remember to write it down once I have parked!)

A blank notebook becomes a suggestion box for your brain, opening you up to new ideas, thoughts, concepts… you never know what will make it’s way in there!

(note: I realize that in today’s digital age, the Notepad on our phones is more convenient – I also use this sometimes, but personally, I LOVE writing, and I love putting pen to paper. The premise remains the same – when a thought occurs, note it down, however you choose to do it!)

So tell me, are you a digital or an old fashioned pen to paper fan?

New Years Eve!

Ahhh, a new year. Nothing feels better than a blank slate with which to create your goals and crush your dreams!

2017 is absolutely full of possibility – do yourself a favor and go, full speed ahead, after what will make your soul smile.

Whatever it is – it’s not too late. It’s never too late!

Will 2017 be the year for you?

happy-new

Make It Happen Monday – Go After Your Dreams

Seems so simple, because it is! Stand strong, believe in yourself, and chase those dreams! The day I decided to become a Beachbody Coach, I committed to doing just this, and I have grown exponentially, and the great thing is, I am only just getting warmed up – I have BIG dreams because I have BIG ABILITIES!
Coaching holds me accountable for myself and my health – without running Challenge Groups and being held accountable, I can’t say for sure that I would have stayed the course – I might have let one of my lame excuses keep me from pushing forward!
Coaching has given me confidence in myself and my abilities – I think back to all the things I couldn’t (or shouldn’t!) do, due to injuries or lack of strength, and I am amazed at how small, consistent changes has gotten me to where I feel confident in myself and my abilities, and I no longer think “I can’t do that!”. I might instead think “I can’t do that – YET!, because I know I am growing and getting stronger every day!
I am also grateful that as a Beachbody Coach, I have the love and support of a very supportive, inspiring community that DOES NOT expect me to be perfect and infallible – they expect us to be realistic, authentic, genuine, and willing – and I can handle that!
Whatever helps you on your journey, thats what you should do. Being part of the Beachbody community as a Coach helps me on MY journey. If you think this might help you on your journey, let’s chat!
If you would like to check out our online Beachbody Coach Sneak Peek Happy Hour, we have one this coming Thursday (20October) at 8:30 pm – we would love to have you and show you what Beachbody Coaching IS, and ISN’T (myths will be busted!)
