Thursday Thoughts – You Can’t Shine On Autopilot!

So many of us fear FAILURE, when really, what we should fear is being in the SAME place NEXT year!

Ever felt like you were on auto pilot? Like you don’t remember how you got from one place to another? Are you wandering aimlessly in your life? Are you leaving it all up to chance?
This life? This is YOUR life. You get ONE. You get one life to LIVE. To experience the abundance this world has to offer. To BE. To FEEL. To LEARN. To ENJOY. To dream and strive, achieve and believe, to LIVE. To be yourself, and who you were put on this earth to be. Fully and unapologetically. Fiercely and fabulously.
You can’t SHINE on auto pilot. You have to choose your direction – mindfully and consciously. You have to choose how you want to feel. You have to strive to feel alive, invigorated, purposeful… FULFILLED.
Want something? Put your intention out there! Claim it by name, ask for it, and GO for it.
 

Monday Musings – Coach Life

I really love coaching because in a world full of things I can’t control and don’t enjoy, Coaching allows me to control several facets of my life, fuel my feel good tank by helping others feel good, and I ENJOY helping people, I ENJOY keeping myself accountable, I ENJOY my groups, teambuilding, biz powwows, and team calls!

Oh, and making some extra cash to pay off debt and do more good in the world with? YEAH, I enjoy that! Just being honest!

When you find something you enjoy doing, it doesn’t feel like work. And feeling like you are in control of some things? THAT is a pretty awesome feeling.

Ever given some consideration to seeing if this opportunity is for you?  Because there is no obligation —  no contracts,  nothing like that. Like it? Run with it. Don’t feel it’s for you? No hard feelings and you will never have to wonder.

Fierce Friday – Three Letters

One word, 3 letters – W H Y?
For the freedoms – time, money, choice… all of them.
For the feel-good feelings of knowing I helped people.
For the friendships, team-building, bonds, and connections.
For the empowerment.
For the ability to live my life by design.
For me. For my family.
For my own health.
Some people dream it, some people do it. I have always been a dreamer, but fortunately, I am also a doer!
No, it’s not always easy (because nothing worth having is, as we all know), and yes, sometimes I do let doubt creep in — and then I promptly kick that out,  because there is no room for doubt – none!
And no, it’s not for everyone — you have to be willing to work hard and step by step instead of expecting it to materialize overnight… but YES, it’s WORTH IT.

Thursday Thoughts – Just Dance

“Dance, full out, with no regard to who is watching, unconcerned with impressing or outshining.

Dance brilliantly, dance loudly, and dance as if your life depended on you pouring your entire heart out on the dance floor.”

One of my personal development books included this passage and I love it! While she was specifically referencing a dancer, the concept can be applied to life, too.

Don’t worry about who is watching, what they are doing, or needing to impress or get approval from anyone. Just live. Just dance.

Thursday Thoughts – We All Have Struggles

I think some people are under the impression that us wellness coaches/mentors never struggle, never have days where it doesn’t come easy; like we never have days where we just don’t want to work out. It’s not true; we ALL have those days. We just know the powerfully exhilarating feeling that comes after getting up and getting it done anyways. We know how it makes us feel physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally. And it’s always worth it.

But absolutely, most of us have days where it is a battle within to get those workout clothes on and press PLAY! This is why we are constantly and consistently participating in the Fitness/Challenge groups… we also benefit from the motivation, shared struggles, tips, and all of that. We are just as human as you, we share the struggles!

It’s during these times — the ones you most DON’T want to — that you need to! These are character building moments, showing you either how badly you want something, or how little it doesn’t matter to you. If your health and wellness matters to you, you trudge forward, doesn’t have to be perfect, you don’t have to crush it… JUST MOVE! beautiful-struggle

Feel Good Friday – Paying it Forward

I get asked a lot “why do you coach?” – and some people are being sarcastic in asking, but some people genuinely want to know. There are a LOT of reasons, but the short answer is because I believe everyone deserves to feel their best – living a happy, healthy, vibrant life. It can be hard to find the motivation to stay with it, which is where our accountability and the support groups come in. But with hard work and consistency, these become lifelong habits, because it’s not a diet or a deprivation, it is a lifestyle change.

That’s why I help people reach their health and fitness goals, thus bettering the quality of their life. Someone helped me reach mine, and though it was my decision to take the leap, and me putting  had someone not cared enough to ask me to join their group, I might still be flailing and trying to get things under control!

And I help them by working with them to find a workout program that suits their goals and abilities, by motivating them, by providing tips to make this crazy thing we call life a little easier… they do all the work, but I am right there to motivate them, to remind them of their why, to be right there in the trenches with them, sweating with them, and I am there to provide encouragement when the inevitable feelings of “I can’t do this” creep in.
