Let me keep it real here and say I am struggling mightily to not up my weights for the program I am currently in – especially as my trainer encouraged us to go up this week as we enter the third week of 8.
But I decided before I even took this program on again, after the 1-2 punch of doing it last time coupled with the 175 mile challenge, my body was taxed and it needed a slower pace, it needed me to be a little gentler… to recover from what it went through and to set up a conducive environment for what I’d like it to go through (conceiving a child).
But it is so hard. It is ALL ego, and ALL competitive spirit… but it’s still a challenge.
I know being gentler and focusing on form is what I need right now, and so that’s why I continue to work on that instead of upping weights… but in keeping it real, I will tell you that is a VERY tall order for my personality type!
8 weeks, 32 workouts, 6.25 inches
So I mean, could you imagine what a transformation I might have if I could get my nutrition dialed in?!
I might be unstoppable! 😉
I’m still pretty happy with my results, but I am also a little relieved that summer and it’s abundance of parties and cookouts and BBQ’s (oh my!) are on the way out!
I don’t struggle with fitness nearly as much as I struggle with nutrition, so for the next go, I am FOCUSING more on nutrition – I NEED that!
Next round starts the 24th – you with us?! You can request to join us here!
whooooa, we’re halfway there…
Ahhh, nothing like a little chocolate drank that will help my little legs RECOVER from that all-HIIT leg workout while celebrating the fact I am ALREADY halfway through this program!
In a fun mental flashback, I recall when the idea of completing a program start to finish was not only intimidating, but TERRIFYING.
Since that “limited mindset”, I have completed upwards of 10 programs start to finish, and I love doing that… however challenging, no matter how many moves make me feel like I’m dying, no matter the obstacles, I love rising up and seeing it through til the end; it’s a powerful reminder that I can do hard things as long as I BELIEVE I can do hard things!
Have you completed a program start to finish before?
What in the actual eff just happened?! 😩
Ohhh, that’s right, LEG DAY.
I swapped rest day yesterday because my right shoulder was ping-a-linging, so all my fellow test groupers had posted and warned me leg day ain’t nothing to eff with, but shoooot! That’s a sweat fest! 💦
(I stand by my “if you still look good when you’re done, you didn’t work hard enough” mantra 😉)
You joining me for LIIFT 4?
