Water Wednesday – Be Proactive!

Be proactive!

Do you know how much easier life can be when you get into the healthier habits that help you be your best self?

Like, for example, I’ve been a great hydrater for about 10 years now, which is of course a habit that will greatly help my pregnancy.

No, I did not always drink as much water as I do now, and to be honest, I didn’t always love plain water. But I started, and I built up to where I needed to be.

I let myself FEEL how staying hydrated was helping me in so many ways.

So now, in my pregnancy, where my water intake is crucial because it not only helps ME but my growing baby, it is much easier to be able to reach the target amount.

Being proactive in a calm manner is a lot easier than feeling the need to react in a panicky manner!

Water Wednesday

Our bodies are largely composed of water, and winter is especially prime time to be replenishing that water, because the dry winter air (and our heating sources!) can lead to winter dehydration, and since we aren’t sweating, we often don’t notice we feel dehydrated!

It’s just as important, if not more important, to stay hydrated in the winter, for a multitude of reasons.

I’m pretty good with getting my water in, but I do love that every Wednesday in my challenge group, we make it a focus to hydrate and award points for doing so – I love that so many of our challengers say it helps hold them accountable to hydrate!

Do you drink enough water? Do you know how much is recommended?

Water Wednesday – Build Your Habit!

The truth is no, I didn’t always enjoy water and I definitely didn’t drink enough.

And yeah, it was definitely a slightly challenging habit to get into because I mean, compared to the millions of drinks out there with ‘flavor’, why would I choose water?

BUT… with an open mind, I started staying consistent and allowing my body (and mind, and spirit…) to reap and feel the benefits of being hydrated, and I won’t sit here and list the multitude of benefits, but they are plentiful!

And then it became easier… I found myself craving water. I went from never having water with me to basically always having it with me.

Not all habits come easy – and many never get easier. But you were made to do hard things – the payoff is worth it when it comes to the health and wellness of your body, mind and spirit.

Now go hydrate – start your habit! 😊

Mythbusting Monday – Water While Exercising

• MYTHBUSTING MONDAY •

Myth:

“Drinking water while exercising will give you cramps”

Truth:

I certainly wouldn’t recommend chugging it, because who wants to jump around with a belly full of liquid? But sips here and there to hydrate you and replenish yourself during a sweat fest will not normally give you cramps.

You should be drinking water before, during, and after exercise to prevent dehydration. Failure to do so can lead to headaches, fatigue, dizziness, and cramps.

Stay hydrated! Mine is empty, time for a refill! 💦

Tip Tuesday – Coconut Water

Plain water doesn’t contain the electrolytes needed to replenish after a long, intense workout… coconut water does, though!

Great way to rehydrate, very tasty!

Beachbody also has a performance line that includes Hydrate, a clean, National Science Foundation (NSF)-certified formula that helps give you an optimal balance of low dose carbohydrates (from natural sugars), electrolytes, and water to quickly replenish what’s lost, helping you work out longer and feel better. You can try it here!
