Adventures in Wellness – Pregnancy is not easy…

Today was a bit of a rough one… walking to appt in humidity, low blood sugars before lunch that had me super out of sorts, some general anxiety (mama’s, surely this is normal?!) and just feeling pretty drained… humidity is not my favorite and it definitely hits me a little harder when I’m this pregnant!

The good news is, tomorrow is a new day and so tonight is just being spent relaxing and snuggling with this little lovebug (because she’s the MASTER at relaxing and reminding me it’s IMPORTANT, even if there IS a trillion things to do!) and so between her friendly reminder and my husband handling dinner, I’m feeling a bit better and regrouping.

That humidity though… whewwwww. No joke!

 

Adventures in Pregnancy – All The Water…

Being 31+ weeks pregnant during this time of year (and thus, during this weather…) is this really interesting little game of needing to hydrate, yet barely having finished one bathroom break before the urge for another strikes up, all the while feeling like you haven’t had anything hydrating yet you’ve been chugging that water (despite not much room in your belly) like it’s life or death (isn’t it?!)

Saturday Sweat – Summer Challenge In Full Effect

We are in a heat wave… a humid one at that! I don’t love humidity – I don’t mind a dry heat, though.

But if I am to meet the 175 mile summer challenge, I need to get some runs in, so they have to happen early, before the sun warms everything up, or they won’t happen!

It was already about 74 degrees when I ran at 0630 today, so my 2 miles felt more like 20, and I was full body drenched!

But, I will say… it feels good to rise above the exhaustion, the heat, and any other factor, and GET IT DONE. There is something extremely powerful within that, and that is the very feeling that I aim for!
