Truthbomb Tuesday – Practices Makes Awesome

Want the truth? Well, it IS Tuesday, so let’s #truthbomb, shall we?

TOO MANY of us (myself included at times – I’m human…) are way too quick to compare. To sell ourselves and our ability to improve short. To throw in the towel and chalk it up to “I just can’t do XYZ…”

BULLSHIT.

Maybe you can’t YET, but every single great in the world once couldn’t do what they excelled at either, or at the very least wasn’t AS awesome at it.

They focused. They put in the work. They showed up, they kept going. They practiced til they were awesome.

Why don’t WE do that? That’s how I see every workout, every round, every rep I do – practice that’s making me better. Making me stronger. Making me awesome.

Most of us don’t wake up and absolutely crush everything we set out to do (and yes, I know there are some exceptions to that rule, but that’s the key word – they are the EXCEPTION!)

If you want to be good at something, keep going till you are – giving up sure as eff won’t make you awesome at it!

PRACTICE makes AWESOME.

Transformation Tuesday – Not All Transformations Are Physical!

I don’t really have one of those “Wow!” kinds of physical transformations. Rather, my transformation has been mostly internal. It’s been mental, emotional, spiritual and yes, even physical.
What have I transformed since starting my Beachbody journey 3 years ago?

My Diabetes. From out of control to under control.

My mindset. From negative to considerably positive.

My body. From weak due to injuries to strong and capable.
My confidence. From insecure to healthy and expressed.
My spirit. From quiet and barely evident, to bold and obvious.
I have seen myself rise to the occasion, to the challenges, and surprised myself with what I am capable of. And in doing so, I bridged what started as a way to keep myself accountable and my Diabetes under control, into a passion for helping others get healthy too.
So while it’s not entirely something I can show from a side-by-side picture, there is absolutely no mistaking how much I have changed, and how far I have come. I used to just get by, lackluster and low energy. Now I feel VIBRANT. I feel CAPABLE. I am energized and excited to see my vision come to life, my dreams come true.
I no longer feel helpless and hopeless. I feel hopeful and confident! And thats the best transformation of them all!

Motivation Monday – Going In Circles

This is very apt, for me right now. Very apt. Yes, I sometimes do feel like I am spinning my wheels – that’s when I know I need to step back, be gentle with myself, realign myself with my goals, and just keep going.

I know, I say those words a lot… because I live by them! I allow myself to feel, step back, and then I keep going. It’s the only option other than quitting, and ain’t nobody got time for that!

Friday Fun – Long Weekend!

I love me a long weekend! Who doesn’t love an extra day to spend with family and friends, soaking in the last unofficial moments of summer and enjoying life?!

What are your plans – anything special?

If you do one thing this long weekend, make it this: take 10 minutes to yourself, to be grateful for where you are in life, be hopeful about your future and the steps you are taking towards your  goals, and be proud of how far you have come!

An extra day provides extra moments to send yourself feel good juju, and to recognize what you have accomplished, and remind yourself what it is you spend all week (and weekend!) grinding for!
