“Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, and the lesson afterwards”
There IS a lesson in all situations… if you keep coming to the same situation, you haven’t yet learned the lesson.
It’s like if you put your hand on a hot stove, and get burned… if you learn that a hot stove will burn you, you learn not to put your hands on a hot stove anymore. But if you keep putting your hands on a hot stove, you haven’t learned the lesson, so you keep getting burned.
A lesson it took me a while to learn is that holding onto my disappointment/anger/resentment does not hurt the people who caused me to feel that way, so I was constantly cycling and expending energy on it. Once I learned that it was really only hurting ME, things started clicking and the lesson started making sense, so it became a little easier (not easy, just easier!) to let that ish go!
Mmm, yeah, this about sums it up! Part of why I am working so hard to grow my business and give myself financial freedom is so we can travel more – I envision traveling all over with my children, like I did with my parents!
So traveling may not always be free (though with my Coach business, the potential is there to earn free travel!), but by working hard and growing my income, it IS more affordable and much more possible (and, I am assuming, a lot more fun when you aren’t needing to put it on credit cards!)
Did you travel a lot as a child? Do you travel more as an adult?
Have you ever ALLOWED yourself to think what life could be like without debt? Without being at the mercy of credit cards or depleted savings accounts?
Even just to be comfortable as costs of living skyrocket? Really let yourself think about what it could be like to bring in extra income each week – uncapped, unlimited potential income, unlike the salary cap associated with corporate jobs?
To help satisfy hunger and boost energy between meals, grab some almonds! High in protein and fiber, these little nuts are quite the superfood.
Almonds are the most nutritionally-dense nut, meaning they offer the highest concentration of overall nutrients per calorie and per ounce.
Great to add to things such as oats, yogurt, and they are perfectly tasty on their own!
Do you like almonds?
Every day, I SHOW UP.
Some days I am ALL FIRED UP, and I kick ass, and it goes down in the history of productive days.
Other days, I take maybe ONE step closer to a better me, a better life. But I still take a step, and that step matters.
You are WORTH showing up every day, and every.single.step.matters, no matter how small. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
It is when you BELIEVE, and when you string together these moments, paired with those days that you are just uneffin’stoppable, that you are gonna SOAR.
So WILL you soar? Or are you content to just get by?
And you are, right? We all have obstacles. We all have to make tough decisions, tap into our inner strength and determination, and fail our way through challenges, setbacks, obstacles and fears.
But every step you take in the forward direction puts you one step closer.
Every challenge you rise to, every obstacle you scale, every bout of fear you claw through… you are closer.
And so all you need to do is keep doing JUST THAT. Keep going, one step at a time, and you will get there.
Have the courage to KEEP GOING.
My very first job, at the tender age of 16, the manager didn’t even want to hire me (she wanted someone who could also answer the phones…) and it wasn’t until she was reminded about DISCRIMINATION, that she agreed to hire me. And to some level, that experience has always stayed with me…
In companies where everyone is just trying to get ahead, it means a lot to me that Beachbody is so diligent in making sure those of us with hearing impairments get a level playing field, and they do this in many ways, but some of the most notable are transcribing their weekly National Wakeup Calls, and captioning every training/promotional video they do, and while that may be wasted on some people, it is certainly not wasted on me, and I am so very grateful and thankful they do this. It’s quite a contrast, and they do it willingly and happily.
Technology is a beautiful thing, and a company making the effort to make everything accessible is a HUGE part of why I am grateful for this platform.
Could you use such a platform with which to better YOUR life?
Not that you need anyone’s permission to be successful, but sometimes it’s a good idea to Tap on that, and make it known to yourself that you do, in fact, have permission to be successful!
I love Brad and his Tapping videos – have you tried them?
