WHY do I workout 6 days a week?

WHY do I post about it?

For more energy.
For confidence.
For stress relief.
For fun.
For the challenge.
For accountability.
For an escape.
For empowerment.
For the feel-good endorphins.
For motivation.
For my health.
And full disclosure? For the MUSCLES!

Those are some of my reasons WHY!

Motivation Monday- Push Through!

Last week was draining, I am just gonna own it.

But that’s last week. This is a new week now, and in HONOR of it being a new week, I am setting up to make today AMAZING, tomorrow AMAZING, the rest of this WEEK amazing.

Because I can. Because it’s just a bad day/week, not a bad life.

I just keep going.

If the road gets rough, stop, catch your breath, remind yourself you can do hard things, and keep pushing!

Shift Shop Saturday!

Y’all! A new program is available with Beachbody – I have done the Sneak Peeks and it looks awesome!

I am excited to give this one a whirl – three short weeks of progressing from basic 25 minute workouts to advanced 45 minute routines – all while honing my nutrition for optimal results? JUST what I needed after some NOLA indulgences! *wink*

It’s great for all fitness levels. If you have a lot of weight to lose, Shift Shop will be your kickstart to fitness. If you’ve spent some time away from your regular routine, trainer Chris will lead you through a fitness tune-up. It’s perfect for anyone who wantst to jump-start their regimen.

In It To Win It Wednesday – HealthBet Challenge

One of the many things Beachbody unveiled at Summit was their upcoming HealthBet Challenge. You have likely heard of the DietBet challenge, but true to form, Beachbody puts the focus where it belongs – on HEALTH, and have created what sounds like a really awesome challenge.



  1. Participate in a challenge group on the My Challenge Tracker App from September 5th thru October 2nd, 2016
  2. Meet the minimum in-App weekly tracking requirements (and get great results in the process!)
    • Log a minimum of 3 workouts.
    • Log a minimum of 5 Shakeology’s, plus post a photo of your Shakeology with your tracked activity.
  3. Win and share equally in the final cash pot

It will be broken down into 4 weeks-  September 5th-11th, September 12th -18th, September 19-25, and September 26th-October 2nd.

The prize pool will be evenly distributed between qualified finishers – it starts at 1 Million BUT, in true Beachbody fashion, they are SWEETENING the pot – they are adding 5$ for every Challenge Pack sold between now and August 31st – that gives the potential to take it well over 1 million dollars! The final amount up for grabs will be determined by September 7th.

What you need: any Challenge Pack (30 day supply of Shakeology and program of your choice), and the My Challenge Tracker app (download from iPhone app store for iPhone or Google Play for Android)

Motivation Monday – Mind over Matter

Happy Monday!

Mindset is spoken of frequently on my team… because its SUPER important!

Basically, mindset controls everything, affects everything, and changes everything. If you get into the mindset that you can do anything, or if you can’t YET you will keep going until you can, your body will follow. But if your body is getting the cue from your mind that nah, we can’t do this… of course your body will listen.

Your body is taking all of its cues from your brain – your mind. Send out positive, can-do vibes, and your mind will soak them up. Put out “I can’t do this vibes” and nope, you can’t.

Actually push your body. This is where the change comes, pushing and going further. Keep going, keep pushing, keep trying.

Workout Wednesday – Guns, Buns and Abs Challenge

We are almost halfway through our 30 Day Guns Buns and Abs Challenge, and I am loving it! The group is killing it… they probably want to kill ME, as I am the one who designed the challenge, but hey, they are powering through and becoming stronger for it, so I’m okay with being a little hated 🙂

The Challenge is simple in nature – 3 moves, going up incrementally. We are doing Pushups (regular or modified), Squats (weighted or nonweighted), and Leg Lifts.

Placed strategically are specific-move “rest” days – it’s only ever a rest from one move, the other two moves you do. We start with 50 Squats, 5 Pushups, and 25 Leg lifts, and we will end with 250 Squats, 40 Pushups, and 100 Leg Lifts 🙂

I wanted to do this Challenge to show people, especially ones that want to get back in shape but have no idea where to begin, that you just start, and you work your way up to doing more, and being stronger. The power of consistency is totally in play here, and that is the message I am trying to show them. I know it can be scary to dive in, and a lot of people overthink it, or think they have to go and spend hundreds on snazzy workout clothing, and I mean yeah thats nice, but honestly, the first step is just to BEGIN!

Just start! Do something, if you can’t do something specific yet, keep building up until you can! This is how everyone gets to the level they are at – they work constantly and consistently to be better, to challenge themselves, to get stronger, better, faster, fitter.
