Sunday Vibes – Balance is KEY

So when I post things like pics of lasagna, or last nights cheesy as eff au gratin, it usually gets me a private message or two from well meaning (I hope?!) people who ask if as a Diabetic, I should be eating that?

For me personally, I’m fine with indulgences like that because I go to great lengths to make the majority of my nutrition cleaner and healthier, so those treats are just that – treats.

They are the exception, not the rule.

I don’t believe in deprivation, I believe in LIVING life while we have a life to live, and YES, that includes things like cheesy potatoes and cinnamon rolls, too!

The rest of my life is balanced out enough between my nutrition and my fitness efforts that I don’t order a side of guilt when I indulge – I ENJOY it and recognize it as the TREAT it is.

Balance means different things for different people, but I love that so many people follow my journey!

Saturday Strong – Nevertheless She Persisted

Everyone has hardships.
Everyone has obstacles.
Everyone has bad days.

That’s part of life… those not-so-good things {{hopefully}} make you appreciate the good things even more.

Those things only define you if you •let• them.

I’m no different. I’ve faced hard stuff. I’ve scaled obstacles. And I sure as shit have had bad days.

I do not let them define me.

No way am I letting a little not-so-good override lots of good.

Factbomb Friday – Work Hard and Play Hard!

A workout while both pumpkin AND apple pie, on top of a Turkey feast, are still taking a ‘nap’ in my belly is not my idea of a good time…

But days like yesterday are why we absolutely MUST move today – that’s balance!

We can’t just feast and then not move – I mean we could, but that’s not gonna get you to your goals!

Feast hard and then work hard! It IS totally possible to make holiday feasts part of your goals!

Saturday Stretch

Ahhhh, stretching 💕

You simply cannot go as hard as I do, as consistently and intensely, and then NOT dedicate time to stretching that all back out.

And yes, many moons ago, I basically WAS that girl that often skipped warm up, and cool down… and stretching was never a consistent part of my routine, really.

But Sara and I have been dedicating one day a week to different stretching-based workouts, and I really have been feeling like it’s exactly what my body needs!

Thankful Thursday – My Husband, My Chef!

Today and every day, I am thankful for this guy, for so many reasons, but today’s focus is on how he steps up and keeps me fed well. I don’t mind chopping and meal prep, but I don’t love cooking, and he always steps up and helps me out with my prep and all of our meals, and I can never thank him enough for it!

Marriage is a partnership 💕

(I should note he isn’t really a chef, but if you tasted his stuff, you wouldn’t know that! He has lived with 3 professional chefs who are all his best friends, so he has gained a lot of skills and knowledge!)
