Flex Friday – Going Backwards… for good reason!

Full disclosure: It was hard for me to feel like I was “going backwards”, to see my muscles in flex Friday pics be smaller than they once were.

For months before I was even pregnant, I was setting the stage for pregnancy by not lifting heavy, but rather lifting what I would be able to sustain during pregnancy (which in this case is 10lbs, per my doctor) and so naturally, my muscles aren’t where they were.

And that was hard. As someone who’s always progressing and never looking backwards, as much as I hate to admit it, it was hard.

But the beauty of this is muscle has memory!

This is the path I need right now for a safe pregnancy, and when I’m able, I’ll get right back to kickin’ butt and lifting heavy – after all, I’ll have a baby to set a strong example for! 💕

Perspective:

Many of us have our relationship to ambition and goal setting inside out. We’re chasing external stuff to do, have, and experience and hope that when we get there, we’ll feel awesome – and sometimes, we do. But too often, we really don’t.

Everything we do is driven by the desire to feel a certain way. Everything. You are not chasing the goal itself, you are chasing the feelings you hope attaining that goal will give you. So, knowing how you want to feel is the most potent clarity you can have. Generating those core desired feelings is the most powerful thing you can do with your life.

Be clear on your desired feelings, and then all of your goals are a means to create those feelings. It’s that simple. The foundation of a good relationship with intentions and goals is keeping in mind that the primary aim of setting and working toward them is to feel the way you most want to feel. The external things you want to have and experience are in service to your heart and soul.

Feeling good is the whole point and you get to define EXACTLY what “feeling good” means to and for you.

It’s your LIFE. It’s YOUR life.

Motivation Monday – Arrows

Happy Monday! This concept has been a little too close for comfort lately but, to its credit, it’s helping me stay encouraged!

So for my part, to the best of my ability (I will confess to having some bouts of monentary doubt, but I mean, I AM human), I am trusting the process, focusing on the next adventure, staying positive, and PREPARING to LAUNCH.
