Work for it Wednesday – Keep Going

Yes, you see me show up.
You see me work for it.
If you pay attention, you also see me struggle. I’m transparent, I own my struggles, as they are part of my story and what gives me strength.

What you don’t see is the water breaks, the catch-my-breath breaks, the incredulous “you want me to do WHAT, Shaun?!” looks…

Yes, sometimes these add up to minutes… but 15 minutes of movement is better than 0 minutes.

So do what you gotta do. Take your breaks. Catch your breath. It’s all part of it…

But keep going. Pausing is NOT the same as stopping.

Work For It Wednesday – Take Action!

WHY…

Why are people so willing to spend hours dreaming and wishing, and spend their time and energy cutting down others who are DOING… instead of using that time and energy to DO?

I’ve never understood it, perhaps because I’m not a dreamer myself, I’m a doer; I’m action oriented and more than willing to put in hard work (as long as there is a payoff – no hamster wheels for me!) in order to achieve what I want to achieve.

Dreaming is nice, but without doing, you aren’t getting very far!

Work For It Wednesday – Pushups with Knee Tuck

Today is supposed to be a day off from my program, so I was gonna run, but this weather is not run-friendly so I instead opted to do Friday’s workout today, and hopefully Mother Nature calms her shit so I can run Friday… (hint, hint, girl…)

Well, Joel had some surprises for me today, starting with a full body HIIT workout including a move I have never done… obviously there is MUCH room for improvement here, but I’m willing to work for it, I’m willing to improve.

If you aren’t willing to work for it, to work towards improvement, nothing I say or do can help you.

YOU have to be willing to put in the work – you ready?!

Work For It Wednesday – Lifting and HIIT’ing!

Tried the sampler of the new workout coming out soon today… lifting and HIIT’ing?! I liked it!

Definitely feeling that, and 30 minutes feels like a breeze compared to what I am used to – but all that does is prove you CAN get an effective workout in 30 minutes, so there’s no excuse why YOU can’t be a badass!

Work For It Wednesday – Tricep Kickbacks

This move from 80 Day Obsession challenges the eff outta me, and it’s not perfect, but the first time I tried this move for 15 reps I needed to take a break, so that I got 15 each side with no break is a victory in itself and I’ll take it, spaghetti arms and all!

The killer is right after THIS move, she goes into 15 triceps pushups, because I think it’s been established Autumn eats crazy with a side of WTF for breakfast 😉

Work For It Wednesday – Progress!

I have to work at it just like anyone else.
I had to progress like anyone else.
I had to show up and do what I could do, till I could do what I wanted to do, like anyone else.

And my fitness journey actually started with the guy who trained me today – Shaun T!

And it never fails, every time I do a workout with Shaun, I go back to the first workout of his I ever did – an ASSKICKING workout from his T-25 Beta (you are supposed to start with Alpha and graduate but, silly me put the wrong workout in) that left me sprawled on the floor for a solid 5 minutes after.

Don’t get me wrong, he still kicks my ass, but I have grown. I have progressed. I have improved. I have gotten stronger. I can do his workouts, and I can work for it just like anyone else!

It didn’t get any EASIER, I just got BETTER, because I trusted the process, believed in myself, and stayed accountable (thanks to my awesome group!)

Work For It Wednesdaaaaaay

When your reward to yourself for successfully finishing phase 1 is not brownies, cupcakes, or ice cream, but rather, new leggings, a new sports bra, a 15lb Kettlebell, and heavier weights so you can kick even MORE ass, you might be OBSESSED 😉

I’m not knocking those who choose/chose an edible reward, this is just how I personally prefer to reward my hard work and dedication to myself!

Work For It Wednesday – Florida Vacation Edition

Vacations used to stress me out, majorly. The planning, the logistics, and oh, the money. Both getting the most bang for our buck, and the paying for it.

Vacations, even cheap ones, are stressful on most people’s finances. Or, if they aren’t, they are vacations that are paid in full because they were saved up for. Which takes a LOT of discipline, you know.

Here soaking in the Florida sunshine with family, my heart. Making memories. Moments. Laughing and living and loving life.

These are the moments we work hard for. These are the moments we grind for.

I am grateful today that by me sharing my story, and helping others feel good about themselves, I have made vacations less stressful financially. Still stressful, but less so. And some day, they won’t be, because they WILL be paid in full with the income I work my butt off to earn by being real, raw, honest and transparent in my journey.

That I have the courage to do that, and reap such fabulous rewards as the result, is awesome. And YOU also have the courage to do it, you just might not know it yet. Are you willing to work for it? Let’s chat!
