I used to think “results? From my living room? With no gym equipment?! Pfffft”

I mean… I had questions! Like..

  • How would I know when to do what workout?
  • How could I keep myself motivated?
  • How exactly would anyone know if I did my workout or not?
  • How would I know what to fuel my body with to stay on track?

Well… the beauty of Beachbody and our accountability groups, is the answers were GIVEN to me. They were provided for me.

How?

  • All programs come with a calendar, structured safely, to help take away the guesswork!
  • There are tons of groups – big ones, small ones, specific program ones, and general ones – to help keep us motivated. My team and I have an ongoing one, and we always have several specific program offerings too. Basically put, no matter what you are doing, we have you covered!
  • These same groups provide the accountability to keep us on track. We interact and engage daily, sharing our workouts, and anything else. We hold each other accountable, help each other through the struggles and cheer each other through the triumphs!
  • All programs also come with a meal plan, so you know what you can eat to fuel yourself, and when you pair that with the proven track record of Shakeology, you are golden!

It’s actually simple. Show up. Follow the plan. Use food as fuel, not a crutch for emotions (a treat here and there is encouraged!). Participate in the groups. Believe in yourself!

Try It Tuesday – Volunteer

Did you know that volunteering is one of the best things you can do? It lifts your mood, puts things into perspective, lifts the spirits of those you help (elderly, the dogs at the shelter, etc), fosters a community feeling, and so many other things?

I know what you are thinking — we are all so busy, where do we find the time to volunteer? And I am guilty too – I don’t give back to the community enough. I have been hyper focused on building my business to give myself a little breathing room and financial relief, but I have also wanted to do more for the community, and so I think it’s time to find the balance and allot some time to GIVE BACK.

Try It Tuesday – No Complaining

Have you ever heard of the “No Complaining” challenge? There are a lot of versions, I recently joined my friend Rebecca in a group to not complain for 21 days – I knew I wouldn’t be perfect at it but I figure any progress is good, because I think I complain too much when I have so freakin’ much to be grateful for, but complaints seem to flow much easier than gratitude…

I was a little overwhelmed… but I actually found myself complaining but immediately realized it and checked myself, which is progress, for me.

So while I am not doing a 3 week “no complaining” challenge, I am becoming much more mindful about how often I complain and trying to shift my mindset towards it. I am trying a 24 hour “no complaining” challenge! I mean, baby steps are better than no steps at all!

I will keep working towards progress. Have you ever tried a no complaint challenge?

Try It Tuesday – 3 Day Refresh

I dislike calling this a detox because that word has gotten a bad, bad reputation in the wellness community, mostly because its associated with extremes that cause your body to react, well… extremely!

Trust and believe I would NEVER do anything extreme to my body, certainly nothing that would have me taking up residence in the bathroom!

No, this is a gentle cleanse, you get to eat plenty of clean, whole foods, and you won’t be spending the entire 72 hours in the bathroom – I PROMISE.

I have done this several times, including the days leading up to my wedding (what bride doesn’t want to feel light, bright, and recharged right before one of the biggest days of her life?!) and I have loved how I felt after every single time. It helped to stabilize my sugars and clean the gunk out of me!

My team has a group starting on December 14th, and we finish December 16th! We would love to have you join us if you would like to tune yourself up to feel great for those holiday parties!

Try It Tuesday – Butternut Squash Mac and Cheese

You guys… I swear… I would never fib to you. So I am serious when I say, if I didn’t know this was made with butternut squash and was healthier, I would have no idea. It works, seriously, and it is SO delicious.

My husband and I made it last week because I have been craving mac n cheese, and then a friend posted this recipe in our Challenge Group so my mind connected the dots and voila, dinner idea!

We didn’t use parsley, but it was optional anyways. I personally prefer cavatappi for my mac and cheese’s, and I have yet to find whole wheat cavatappi, so even still with it being healthier, it was still a splurge (but if you follow my blog you know by now that I firmly believe in splurging and not denying myself – portion control is key here!)

We used our immersion blender and it worked perfectly. Husband was even impressed, which always makes me happy! Delicious and we will make it again, absolutely!

Have you ever tried Butternut Squash? It’s a great way to sneak veggies in for kiddo’s who may not be a fan of them, too. For the record, I’m not advocating lying, I am just saying, sometimes, with some picky eaters, what they don’t know not only WILL NOT hurt them, but will help them! 😉

With a rich array of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants as well as significant amounts of digestive fiber, Butternut squash is up there as one of the most nutritious veggies you can have!

Try It Tuesday – Veggetti/Zoodler

Do you have a veggetti/spiralizer/zoodler – they have many names, but are all basically the same.

We got one about a year ago and just recently started using it – and I LOVE it.  Awesome to use especially on zucchini/summer squash – you can sauté your zoodles in a little olive oil and whatever spices you like, or they are actually good raw too, for a nice cool, crisp dish.

The possibilities are endless, too. I follow a woman on Instagram – Inspiralized – and she is always coming up with cool stuff.

Bonus part is that many young children think zoodles are pasta, so they are all about it, and its a great (albeit slightly sneaky!) way to get more veggies in your little ones!

Try It Tuesday – Low-Carb Biscuits and Gravy

At my former place of employment, we used to have payday Friday cookouts. And Biscuits and Gravy would sometimes find itself on the menu. It’s a very rich meal, so I never have more than a few bites, but man is it delicious! Diabetic Connect has shared a healthier version, one that’s sure to tantalize your tastebuds!

Ingredients – Biscuits:

  • 1 cup Almond Flour
  • 1 Tablespoons, Coconut Flour
  • 3/4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 2 tbsp Butter – Unsalted
  • 3 large egg whites
  • splash of cream or whole milk

Ingredients – Gravy:

  • ¼ tsp Black Pepper
  • ¾ tsp xanthan gum
  • 2 cups Whole Milk

I see this a lot on my social media, and in my groups. People who are unhappy with their looks, their body… they look in the mirror and start picking out the flaws… that is no way to live.

I don’t think I am anything to write home about, but this is my body, this is my face, and so this is what I am working with!
