Got balls? 😉
I have been going green in as many ways as I can, gradually. No, I am not that person that overhauls everything at once because hello, overwhelming!
But I have been working on safer, sustainable swaps, and my newest is using these wool balls in the dryer in place of dryer sheets (not good for the planet 🌎 and also not 🐾 dog-friendly!), and I was skeptical, but willing to give it a chance because that’s what I do, I give things chances 😊
Well, consider this skeptic a BELIEVER! I was told wool dryer balls could help reduce the drying time, and also that if you put some essential oil drops on the balls, your clothing would smell delicious.
It did, and they did! I usually set my dryer to “more dry”, because I can’t stand damp clothing and I almost always have full loads of laundry. This time I set it to “normal dry”, which I don’t know exactly what the time differential is between the two drying cycles, but I know often if I have jeans in there, they will still be slightly damp after a “more dry” cycle, and with the dryer balls, they were perfectly dry just using “normal dry”, so there is obviously some credibility there.
Oh and I used some Frankincense essential oil, and my clothing smells divine, still!
This morning, the girl filling my coffee order was so excited to show me her own new glass cup – the same one as mine except pink!
And I didn’t hear her at first, and she had to repeat herself, but she told me MINE inspired HERS, and I mean, that felt good! It felt good to know I helped inspire someone to do something that lessens their impact on the world and helps heal it to a better place! ❤️🌎
People might roll their eyes, but this is why we SHARE – if even one person is inspired because of it, it’s worth it!
And yes, small measures absolutely do add up, and it’s up to us to make a difference!
Up at 0300 to get a workout and shower in before a 0530 flight…
Followed by a 3.5 mile run here in Michigan, in shoes I haven’t broken in, on hilly, dirt roads (only ran on pavement before) soooooo you can imagine how humbling a run THAT was (almost cried AND almost got sick, haha)
*note to self: no runs on dirt roads everrrrrr*
Followed by chin-ups and monkey bars on the playground… I’m tired, haha. I still struggle with chin-ups, but practice makes me better – I am working on it!
It’s been quite a day but I’ve loved every second!
Yum – love this, perfect summer beverage!
I dumped in the maraschino cherry juice for some color, too!
Here is what you need:
- 1 750-ml. bottle white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc
- 2 c. pineapple juice
- 1 c. Seltzer
- 1 c. chopped pineapple
- 1/2 c. coconut rum
- 1/4 c. maraschino cherries
Mix everything together and chill!
Anyone else ever tried these? My mom got them for me and I was skeptical, and heard mixed reviews. Some people said the eggs were perfect and came out easily, other people said these gadgets held their eggs hostage.
But I decided to try them, and I sprayed them beforehand. And they actually did work perfectly! Much easier than fighting to peel a shell (sometimes my method for easy peeling works and other times it doesn’t, and inconsistency is one of my pet peeve’s, so it’s nice to have a working option to save my sanity and my eggs!)
(Yes, they end up flat on one side but that actually makes storage easier!)
I have been craving beets lately – I love beets! I am usually too lazy to do much of anything with them, but this weekend while grocery shopping with my husband, I was inspired to buy a couple and give them a shot – not only did I want beets, but I wanted to try something new, and add some skills to my arsenal – nothing wrong with that, right?! 😉
LUCKILY I quickly caught on to the fact I was gonna need gloves to handle these babes, or deal with some stained hands!
So I kept it simple, I kept them whole, wrapped them in foil, and baked for about an hour, give or take. Once they cooled, I sliced them – and they were perfectly delicious!
Note: I scrubbed them super clean and just kept the skin on – more nutrients and less of a hassle, but you can always peel them.
That was easy and SO tasty – I gotta do that more often! Aren’t they gorgeous?!
Do you like beets?
Santa came super early! (Yes, I told Santa this is NOT his month, but he came bearing presents!) He dropped this here box of Vegan Shakeology flavors off, and told me to spread the health and wellness!
So, if you have wanted to try, here is a great chance – comment below and I will wrap up your very own single serving packet for you, and you won’t have to wait til Christmas to open it! 😉
Have a friend who would like to try? Awesome!
Have you ever complimented a perfect stranger?
I never used to, but more and more, I find myself just blurting out “I love your shirt” or something else. Usually impulsively which for me, adds to the feeling associated with it. Because have you ever noticed how someone smiles and lights up when complimented?!
I think the world could use more complimentary offerings and less critical ones – what say you?
Who’s up for the challenge? I bet if you tried this for 30 days, consciously and consistently, you would notice a difference in your quality of life!
Which of these do you think YOU would find the most challenging? The most rewarding?
