Thirsty Thursday – Darin Olien

Have you ever heard of this guy? He is known as the ingredient hunter – he sources all the yummy botanicals in Shakeology.

Now, some people might read the ingredient list and think “ooh, that sounds pretty!”, but Darin didn’t travel around the world to find exotic superfoods that sound interesting or look pretty.

The ingredients in Shakeology were chosen because they have shown to be beneficial to people’s health again and again. These superfoods are “super” because can benefit our health!

It’s the same reason I drink my shake religiously… not because it’s pretty, but because it HELPS me (and tastes good!)

Thirsty Thursday – Clinically Proven

There are a lot of claims out there, but, are they proven? One of many reasons I align with Beachbody is because they are adamant about testing, retesting, researching, and making sure their claims are backed up by credible sources…  They cut no corners on that and personally, that carries a lot of merit with me! I do not have the labs or resources to do that, so knowing the legit and thorough job they do puts my mind at ease, and is one of many reasons I am confident in consuming their products!

I am far from perfect in what I consume and put in (and on) my body, but I have been making it a practice to be more mindful about all of that.

And as someone fighting to get their Diabetes back under control after some rough patches, knowing it has helped me gain control BEFORE, helps me feel confident I am able to do just that again. It is far from THE ONLY tool that will get me back into controlled range. but it IS one of the valuable ones.

What some people simply see as a SHAKE, I see as a crucial piece to my puzzle.

Thirsty Thursday – Texture

Anyone else out there super particular about texture of beverages? I do not like chunks of anything, other than pulp in orange juice, outside of that, I like it super smooth, which is why I prefer to blend my Shakeology as opposed to just shaking it with the shaker cup – that does work but I prefer to blend it!

Who else is willing to dirty a dish/equipment to ensure they get smooth drinks? I can’t be the only one?!

Thirsty Thursday – New Vegan Shakeology Flavors

More variety for the win! For my vegan friends, and those unable to consume dairy, the recent news about two new Vegan flavors was hit with resounding CHEERS!

Vegan Vanilla and Vegan Café Latte are now on the market – who’s excited?!

I am looking forward to getting my order so I can give these new flavors a whirl! I am not vegan or lactose-intolerant, but I actually like the Vegan flavors better. It’s just a personal preference.

Thirsty Thursday – Shakeology

Many people find routine to be their happy place – I am one of those people. The mornings I drink my Shakeology first thing, the rest of the day tends to go smoothly. On weekends, when I tend to drink it a little later, that’s usually when you find me snacking a little more out of control.

It’s like a base for me – when I fuel myself properly, my body doesn’t need or crave much else. I get a chocolate fix that’s clean, healthy, and delicious.

Sure beats scarfing a Milky Way down at 7 am – way less guilt, way less sugar/carbs, and way more satisfying!

Thirsty Thursday – Good Old H20!

Oftentimes, in my groups or in conversation, I am asked what’s my favorite tip, or what piece could I not do this journey without, and truthfully, while I have learned a LOT of different key components, my number one has not changed – DRINK YOUR WATER!!! For such an easy, accessible component, it packs SUCH a punch in your journey to wellness!

Did you know that water makes up almost 85% of your brain, about 80% of your blood and an average 50% of your lean muscle? Water helps eliminate toxins from the body, is essential for proper digestion and nutrient absorption, and basically plays a vital role in nearly every bodily function, which is all the more reason to ensure you get your h20 in!

Aim for half your body weight in ounces – you can do it! The effects on your body are SO worth getting into the habit!

Thirsty Thursday – Califia Farms Salted Caramel Cold Brew Coffee

Sometimes treats are nice, and I am big on allowing myself to enjoy them guilt free (within reason), because I have found for my personality type, depriving myself really sets me up for a disaster at a later date.

A fellow teammate had mentioned this and how delicious it is (she is lactose intolerant, so has been on the hunt for tasty, dairy free items), and being a sucker for caramel, it caught my eye (I know, how cruel that Caramel is not diabetic-friendly!), so I wanted to give it a try.

It was pretty good, a nice little treat – nothing I would drink on a regular basis because despite being soy-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, and non-GMO, this little 10.5 oz bottle does boast 18 net grams of Carbs and 16 grams of sugars – a lot more than I would like!

But as I said, it is a nice treat to enjoy once in a great while, or split it up and use 1/2 of it in your shake/smoothies.
