Saturday morning with my girl
(Thought bubble: why do you insist on torturing me with pics Mom? Gosh, I’m busy! There’s sticks to chew, balls to chase, and squirrels to stare down!)
I have a live training with my team today, and I am excited! Last time we all gathered in person was awesome, and bolstered my belief that I am on the right path! I was in a bad mood, negative, and didn’t want to bring anyone down, so I questioned whether I should go. Little did I know, it was going that was going to not only lift me out of my bad mood, but clear away a LOT of the fog, too!
I fully believe in surrounding yourself with positive, uplifting people who see bright futures ahead. I am lucky enough to not only have a close circle of childhood friends who do this, but I also have my Beachbody friends, who have become family!
Life is challenging, and when you have a tribe of people who will help pull you out of any funks, encourage and empower you, inspire and motivate you, and cheer and celebrate you… well, frankly, you are very blessed, and I consider myself extremely blessed to be on this amazing journey with these amazing people.
I foresee a lot of love, light, laughs, and yes, learning today. And I couldn’t be happier about it!
It really is the simplest things in life that bring the most joy 🙂
We are in NY (Watkins Glen) for three days for Magnaball – Phish’s 10th Festival. This is our mecca, our happy place! We caravanned with a bunch of friends (we have RI, MA, Chicago, and NY with us), set up camp, and are enjoying the last days of summer.
Perfectly happy to be with some of my closest friends, hanging out and chilling during the day, dancing and jamming out all night long to my second favorite band ever (second ONLY to Grateful Dead), meeting new friends, learning new things, taking in all the amazing artwork and crafts…. ahhh I love festivals.
So on that note, I’m gonna keep this one short and sweet so I can get away from the technology and enjoy nature!
Have a good weekend, everyone!
Happy Saturday, all!
I should be in a better mood than I am today, but the bullshit from the past week has my spirits temporarily soured… quite unfortunate.
I am hoping that since today is my bridal shower, and I will be seeing a big handful of my favorite people, that will help! Tall order, I know…
Here is to hoping I soon snap out of my funk and recognize that for all the bull, there is a lot to be grateful for (deep down I know this, but I am also really ridiculously sick of being screwed over and expected to take it…. I try to be the duck, and let things roll off my back, but I am human and we ALL have our limits.)
Anyone doing anything fun today?
The pedicure hasn’t happened yet because this morning we opted to go to a local farm (a farm I grew up going to for fresh fruits and veggies no less) to pick some strawberries! Then, we headed to the water to gather some rocks (smoothed by the salt water!) for a wedding project. So I did get my Vitamin D, plus I got super sweet, fresh berries out of it and one more thing checked off the wedding to-do list! That’s way more important than a pedicure 🙂
Tonight is Dead/Phish night at a local venue, and we will of course be heading to that, so I’ll be dancing my way around, enjoying a great Saturday night after a splendid Saturday!
Live the life you love. I promise, you can do it. Live your life by d e s i g n, not d e f a u l t.
What an outstanding day so far… how is yours going?
This girl right here is a huge, huge fan of Saturday mornings. As someone who commutes to work, and deals with traffic (especially bad in the summer, as I work in a very summer tourist-laden area), I appreciate the slightly slower pace of Saturday mornings. My fiancé and I usually lounge in bed a little longer, and meander out to get our coffees and just enjoy some quality time, instead of the usual hustle and bustle of the workweek. Sometimes I get myself outta bed early, get my workout in, and then go back to snuggle a bit.
Then who knows what Saturday brings… usually the errands I didn’t get to over the week, and the free time fills up fast, but there is something so awesome about a Saturday morning, knowing you have two quality days ahead of you with which to get stuff done, take time for yourself, run errands, visit with friends and family; all sorts of fun stuff. It’s a peaceful easy feeling waking up on Saturday, and I love it!
Are you like me? Food lover, but dish hater? In our current residence, we do not have a dishwasher, which means every single cup, bowl, plate, utensil, and pot has to be hand washed. Which, if I am being 100% real here, has gotten on my last nerve. I certainly don’t mind washing a few dishes here and there, but having to handwash everything, every day, gets really old for me. I have already sworn up and down that I will never live in a house that doesn’t have a dishwasher again. I will not.
But until that day, this will help – this contains some recipes that use only one pot! YAY! Check them out, let me know what you think!
Sidenote: I should confess that my fiance is very good about using as few pots and pans as necessary, but it still adds up! 🙂
