Tip Tuesday – Burning More Calories

Even just walking burns calories, which is why its so common to go for a walk after a holiday meal, or just even after any meal – exercise is good and so isn’t burning calories!

But what you may not know is that walking on softer surfaces burns more calories! I know, kind of weird, but it actually makes sense!

Based on a 1 mile walk at a 3-3.5 mph pace,  walking on sand burns 158 calories, walking in snow burns 130 calories, walking on wet sand burns 102 calories, walking on grass burns 67 calories.

Another bonus to those lovely walks on the beach! 🙂
