Today’s featured superfood doesn’t exactly look super pleasant, but much like a lot of other things, its benefits far outweigh how yucky it might look. Chlorella is a single-celled type of green algae that grows naturally. It is also grown and harvested in artificial ponds. It contains big amounts of chlorophyll and it is one of the major parts of the small aquatic plant phytoplankton, which is found in plankton. It is a food source, and a nutritional supplement.
It comes equipped with plenty of benefits, and contains a healthy dose of zinc, calcium, iron, magnesium, vitamins C, E and B12, and it also contains some tryptophan, phosphorus and vitamin A.
Personally, I don’t think I could take this as a standalone, but since my Shakeology has it, I reap all the benefits anyways 🙂
